About Me – Dayten Rose

I’m a writer, editor, and storyteller based out of Kansas City, MO. My passion is tracking down those oddball stories, the ones that happen under the louder historical flow, and then sharing them before they’re gone.

My B.S. is in Linguistics from Truman State University, where I also ran the university’s literary magazine. Studying language provided this incredible backdoor into thinking about writing and the world, which I was eventually able to explore through creative nonfiction. My current projects revolve around abandoned towns, Antarctic air crashes, and rogue A.I. During my time at Truman, I also got to produce video content for the English & Linguistics Department, and assist in translating testimony from survivors of the bombing of Nagasaki, of which I’m particularly proud.

Outside of writing — okay, barely outside — I’m an avid Dungeon Master and homebrewer in Dungeons & Dragons. You’ll also find me haunting restaurants around KC and snobbing up coffee shops. Recent recipient of some probably-haunted knickknacks.
